David McBeth, a Texan for more than 70 years, has lived in Andrews, Denton, Irving, Rowlett, Dallas, Mesquite, Richardson, Houston, Plano and finally, the tranquil gem called Oak Point. David and his wife Theresa built a home in Emerald Sound in 2013 and both feel it is the perfect place to retire and enjoy the many friends they have made. David has a son and 3 grandsons. He and Theresa have traveled to several parts of the world with Italy (3 extended trips) holding a special place in their hearts as it is Theresa’s family homeland. David enjoys woodworking and has a passion for classic cars.
David attended Andrews Schools, NTSU (Now UNT) and is a US Army Veteran who served in the 171st Infantry Brigade as Sergeant and 81mm Mortar Section Leader.
Before retiring David spent 50+ years in various management positions; 25 years in management with Thomas Reprographics (now Thomas Printworks) specializing in blueprinting, printing, copying/duplicating, large format output, small and large color photo output and digital imaging. David’s last position at Thomas was Houston District Manager over multiple reproduction plants. David spent the next 16 years with The Trade Group, a company who designs, manufactures and produces trade show exhibits and events. At TTG David held management positions in Operations, Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse & Inventory Control, Purchasing, IT and Network Administration.
David has served as Chairman of the Oak Point Planning & Zoning Commission, Chairman of the Oak Point Comprehensive Plan Sub-Committee and the Oak Point Home Rule Exploratory Committee.
During his City Council campaign David coined the phrase “Oak Point – Uniquely Ours – I’m All In”. David pledges to work hard for the city and keep the country feel that drew him into this great community.
